This was our first night stop on a Route 66 bike tour across the States. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were old but clean and comfortable. We stayed here based on other TripAdvisor recommendations and were not disappointed.
The timing finally worked out for a stay at the CarlinVilla and I verified that all the good comments I had heard were true. It's a well maintained old timer owned by some folks who care about its history as well as its current reputation. My room was very clean and included fridge, microwave, and WiFi.
On our Rt.66 trip we were using the Dining and Lodging Guide which is updated every year. I highly recommend it for any traveler. The Carlinvilla Motel was as described, clean and inexpensive. It is certainly old, and that is what we were seeking. However it is graciously aged and the owners take pride in its care. You will be...
We'd just started our Route 66 adventure and needed somewhere for a good nights sleep! Having read the reviews we decided this looked like a good option. We weren't disappointed it did exactly what we wanted. Comfy bed good air con and a breakfast to put us on the next morning. Def recommend to anyone wanting cheap and cheerful
After a long day in Carlinville Lake was looking for a motel. The room was very clean, great air conditioner and had a good night sleep. IT rained all night and we was dry as the rest was sleeping at the lake in tents.
The motel is obviously old but that is also part of the charm. It is very nice, clean and has very friendly staff.
It has free breakfast, free wifi, good beds, and a quiet surrounding/ All in all I would most definitely recommend it!
