The feeling of staying in a real favela. Totally safe and really friendly people
Nice hostel with an amazing view on the sugar loaf.
The hostel itself and our room where both clean.
The breakfast was really nice and fresh
A simple accommodation . You will be rewarded with fantastic views and a good breakfast . The owners are very nice and helpful . The town is easily accessible by bus . The tram was not going to this time ( repairs ) .
The hôtel is in a safe favela, with a beautiful view!!!
Its clean, the breakfast is perfect, and the staff is very friendly , the most close Metro station is at 20 minutes by Walk but you can take a bus near to the hôtel !
It is a nice place to stay to experience a Favela, to have a great view over the city. They are very helpful.
Are room wasn't the best, shower didn't work properly. We didn't realised the many steps we had to take every day. It wasn't easy to go back to your Pousada during the day.
- we had a twin room ensuite with balcony (incl a hammock :-) ) and an awesome view! room was ok.
- there is also a nice patio on the roof where you can have an amazing view (specially for sunrise & sunset)
- friendly & helpfull staff (special thanks to Matti!)
- good brekky with fresh bread, fruits, cheese,...
Breathtaking view of Rio with Pao de Azucar directly from the pousada. Very friendly and helpful international staff. The rooms are simple but clean. Breakfast very nice with tropical fruits, jam, ham, cheese. We felt absolutely save in the favela, everybody said, it`s save. The price for the rooms are very moderate. The only disadvantage was the getting there. You...
Very friendly and helpful staff! The view from the rooftop is amazing as well from the rooms! It's a cultural and interesting area. And here you can live in the slum in a safe and pleasant way! We really liked to get up early and watch the sunrise!
Pousada Favalinha is a really nice Place with good vibes and a friendly and very helpful staff. The place itself has an amazing view and the neighbourhood has It's own charme. We stayed there during New Years and it was awesome. Also we think that the location of the hostel in the Favela/slum is in a safe and cultural neighbourhood!...
it was a very good experience to live the way most of Rio's "real" people live. You must be in a fairly decent physical shape to stay at this type of location as it isn't accessible to disabled or elderly people.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. No air but the rooms are clean and relaxing. Good mixture of travelers. Located in a good area with no touristy noise. Great breakfast. All around a pleasant experience.
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
