Small town pub and the only one in town but a good one. Cozy with a local crowd and us walkers. The food is typical pub grub and lots of it. This is a pub and not a place to get a room which Trip Advisor should make clear.
What a welcoming place. Staff were great and on top form . A group of 9 of us had our evening meal and everyone was satisfied. The staff have excellent banter with customers. An amazing end of our first day Hadrians cycle. Thanks again guys.
We did not stay overnight but we had dinner at the Kings Arms and enjoyed our meal. There was a nice typical pub atmosphere and the staff were friendly and helpful. The Chicken Kiev was good and the fish and chips was great. The fish tasted really fresh.
The only place in the village to obtain an evening meal and you can tell.
Admittedly the pub was busy but we waited for over an hour for our meals with no updates or reasons why and then my steak and ale pie arrived cold!
Discussed this with the bar staff when we paid the bill and eventually with the...
We were fortunate enough to eat here 3 times while staying in Bowness on Solway. This is a lovely, friendly pub and we were made to feel welcome. Service is excellent. The menu has lots of options including specials and all food is very reasonably priced. We would definitely recommend it.
Lovely pub and very friendly welcome. Menu had many options to choose from and food was great! Everything was very reasonably priced and there was a great atmosphere! Hadrian's wall passports can be purchased here which is very handy! Thank you!
Our group of exhausted but thirsty Wall walkers arrived mid afternoon and got a fantastic welcome to go with the good beer. Great honest pub and landlady and her staff sorted us out with transport back to Carlisle without us having to lift a finger. Great pub even if you didn't arrive from Newcastle. Thoroughly recommended
Called in for lunch after finishing the Hadrians Wall walk. Welcoming staff, quiet atmosphere and fantastic food made it a relaxing experience after a hard few days walking. Add in cheap prices and I left happy.
We ended our Hadrian's Wall walk at the pub - it was also my 50th birthday and we invited a group of friends to celebrate with us. The pub isn't 'posh' but it's all the better for it, the atmosphere is absolutely great, the food very reasonably priced and it's so much nicer than ending the walk in some smart,...
Whilst enjoying a walking holiday with friends we visited the Kings Arms and were warmly welcomed after a tiring but enjoyable walk all of us were quite hungry. We were made comfortable and found the staff really friendly they could not do enough for us. The food was really delicious and they had quite a varied menu to choose from...
