Stopped in on the way passed to get a bit to eat in the way to Derry. Poor choice on early bird menu. And not fit for a dog when served to the table. Champ looked like they used the fat from a chip pan on it. It was the colour of cardboard
Stayed for a long weekend, lovely hotel with great attentive staff, food in restaurant was really good and affordable, rooms are well decorated with everything you need in them. Will definitely be back again
Out for a drive on Easter Monday. Called in to Mellon for something to eat. Staff attentive and friendly and put my wife and I at ease right away. Food homely and good. Best roastie I have tasted. Value for money. Would call again
We stayed at the Mellon Country Hotel as we were attending a country night with Keltic country. I must say the hotel was very nice, the staff were excellant especially the supervisor Alex. She was so helpful and kind, as I am disabled I really appreciated all the help she gave me. The reception staff and the restaurant staff were...
Arrived home from shopping and we couldn't be bothered cooking so we though we would try the Mellon. The sea bass dish my wife had was really excellent and we would thoroughly recommend trying it. Meaty fish with really good accompaniments.
I had fish cakes as a main course with home made fries and there was plenty to eat. The...
Good service speed for meal in restaurant, good quality food spoiled somewhat by a surly brown-haired waitress-cum-receiptionist. Set down food several times without so much as a 'thank you' or 'there you go, enjoy your meal'. Did not enquire as to how we were enjoying our meal and didn't even deign to say goodbye. We did leave the standard/minimum tip,...
Stayed 2 nights all our meals were very good and were good sized portions, the staff were very friendly & helpful. The first night we stayed was a Friday with country music in the function room it was great we enjoyed it very much. Would have given it full marks but some of the décor needed a little bit tlc,...
We stopped for lunch on Friday on route to Ballina and had a lovely lunch especially the sea food chowder. Service excellent and staff friendly. The restaurant was busy although it was after 2pm and people were still coming and going. It must be known for all day type service. Would visit again.
This hotel is about a minute's drive from the Ulster American Folk Park. After a busy day at the Folk Park, it's great to come here for a nice dinner and a very nice place to stay. You have to book directly with the hotel: http://www.melloncountryhotel.com
