Another lovely evening in this delight between Bath and Briatol. Great food, a menu with a South African flavour. Beautifully refurbished with friendly staff. Well worth a visit. Make sure you try the garden, even on a wet day!
Quite a small pub so would recommend booking if going at the weekend. We went Friday evening around 7pm and there were only a few tables available.
Food was very tasty and well presented.
Prices around 10-15 pounds for mains.
Chips are superb.
Staff were brilliant.
Ambience very nice, old style setting, impressive.
Highly recommended as I often find most...
Emailed to book a table for Sunday lunch, received an email confirming email to say they would confirm booking with in 24 hours. After 48 hours I then phoned to say was booking confirmed, was told by someone to hold while he spoke to manager, then told manager or whoever would contact me later that evening to confirm, didn't ask...
We came here for a Sunday roast and unfortunately I and everyone else was sadly disappointed. For £14 the meal was small, cold and lacked flavour Although there was unlimited veg the meat was small. On the flip side staff were polite and the garden was great and more appealing than inside the pub.
sorry but not what i expected...
We stumbled across the gorgeous pub and had a few drinks I really wish this was my local as I would be here all the time! We're so impressed we shall be coming for dinner. Lovely beer garden nice and relaxing ample parking aswell.
We visited early on a Saturday evening and hadn't booked in advance. The waitress could not have been more helpful. The food was very good and we enjoyed every single mouth full! Lovely! The beer garden looked to be beautiful and the ideal place to spend a sunny evening admiring the view.
We only called a this pub as we were late & the car park in our normal Sunday pub was full. We tried 4 other pubs in the area but they were all fully booked.
The Old Crown was also fully booked but they found a little table & managed to seat us without issue. From minute one the staff...
Very good food. Portions are a good size and the menu although limited was interesting and very appetising. I loved the use of herbs. At the moment it is best to book a table as seating is limited. We understand from the proprietors that they have plans to expand later this year. The young couple who have recently taken over...
Situated between Bristol and Bath this quaint pub offered delicious food and a warm welcome. Open fires and wooden beams enhanced our well cooked meals and attentive service. Our rather complex dietary requirements were thoughtfully catered for and the menu was balanced and alluring. We'll be coming back! Many thanks!
Having passed this place by dozens of times over the years, we finally stopped by today. A cosy, rustic, country pub, the staff and locals were very welcoming, as was the roaring fire. Decent real ales a day ciders were on offer too. The food menu looked great, though we didn't have a chance to sample.
