The bedrooms are good and the cooked breakfast is excellent. We also had dinner which was good, but quite expensive for pub food. Also they don't have a childrens menu which is difficult with younger children.
We stayed here following a wedding nearby. We stayed in Room 5 which was facing the road.As it was very warm we had the window open and were deisturbed by some traffic noise although I recognise we live somewhere very quiet and don't get any traffic noise at night! The room was clean and well furnished but had an overwhelming 4...
Stayed here before and had an ok experience, however, won’t be staying again.
Stayed in a more expensive room and our friends in a standard room. The only difference was that we had a freestanding shower and they had a shower over the bath. In fact, their room seem better finished and had a valance on the bed, whereas we...
As usual a good meal with the quality service we have come to expect and enjoy.
What more can I say> the pace is clean and car parking is adequate, I imagine they would like more plus customer parking with a little more thought for others.
We stayed here for the night and were extremely impressed with the quality of the room and great food - the lamb in particular was excellent. The staff went out of their way to please and nothing was too much trouble. We cannot wait to return soon. 10/10
We visited Barnsley with friends and had a great Sunday lunch in the Village Pub
The menu was appealing to all and we tried different items. Everything was first class and my roast beef lunch was exceptional.
Whilst trying to keep away from desserts it was a Sunday and I wanted a treat so ordered one. It was fabulous
This is a cosy pub with a good space for just drinks alongside it's busy restaurant. With its low beamed ceilings and quirky wall art it exudes a comfortable, someone's-front-room atmosphere. The food is all locally sourced with perfectly paired flavours. Some good meat cuts on offer as well as some more unusual veg offerings. Lovely place.
Stayed in Room 6 at the Village Pub on a Monday night as the hotel at the conference I was attending was full - how lucky am I! This room is situated upstairs under the eves on the driveway side. My stay was wonderful from booking through to departure - I didn't want to leave - sorry family!
Celebrated our anniversary. Excellent food and very comfortable room. Service was good and location is excellent for getting to all the local villages. The pub was always busy which is the sign of a good venue. My only complaint was there was no service on our phones maybe because of the location. Will definitely revisit
My second visit to this lovely country pub and restaurant. My first was Xmas time for a works do which was wonderful. I wanted to take my husband and as we wanted to some shopping in Cirencester it was perfect as so close. We didn't book and had a table no problem, the pub was very busy and obviously popular....
