Staying at Balmacara Mains guest house is worth it for the view alone! It is stunning! The breakfast was lovely and great choices for everyone's tastes. The room was very comfortable. We would go back without hesitation.
We were greeted by the friendly and lovely owner Norman who was very attentive and insured we were well looked after. We have stayed here a couple of times and love the location, accommodation and the overall service. We always stay in room 7 which has the woodland view. The view over the Loch is superb. The view all round...
I had the pleasure of staying in this little gem whilst on business. The location and views are second to none, with the house situated right on the waters edge. The proprietor Norman is a truly delightful gentleman full of charm and chat. He is assisted by Fiona a very friendly warm lady and a fabulous cook.
Rooms are spotlessly...
The owner is hospital and the rooms are warm, clean and comfortable. We have stayed there for few times. Fresh air and beautiful loch view in the morning, reasonable price, nice breakfast.
Free wifi, though mobile signal is very poor there.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights, using it as a base for our visit to the Isle of Skye and we were not disappointed. The hotel room was charming and huge, with a king size bed and an entry patio. It is located right on Loch Aish with breathtaking mountains and loch views from anywhere in the...
We arrived, accompanied by Desmond storm gale winds (inundated NE England) in pitch dark, and were greeted warmly by the owner, Norman, and Fiona the following morning. It was blowing a gale and the rain lashed sideways but it was wonderful as usual. The clouds did disperse for a time over night and allowed us an...

This was the second time I stayed at Balmacara Mains, the first earlier in the year with work and when I told her-in-doors she had to make a trip up to see the views and walk the mountains. Norman and the staff couldn't do enough to make us welcome and to cater for my wife's dietary requirements. Although we visited...
