Upon the recommendation of our hotel we decided to take the tour after checking in. They picked us up at our hotel and were very friendly and courteous. The tour showed what this family owned farm produced: coffee, sugar and cocao. They showed every step of the process. It even included sampling coffee beans, cocao beans, and sugar cane straight... 更多
Very nice for a family of young children. The machines, farm, and information on processes was very informative. The bullock cart ride was great fund for the kids. I felt that the water powered sugar cane mill was over the top for what it did, but was nice to see.
This wads wonderful tour, our guide was both knowledgeable and funny. This is s very interesting tour of a local family-owned boutique coffee plantation. They cover every detail on the plantation's operations, and also show you how they process sugar cane & chocolate. Of course, we had to buy some of their honey-roasted coffee and a few coffee mugs. We... 更多
Our guide was Sergio and we had a very small group (6 people). He was excellent. He knows all there is to know about the farm and there is some very interactive parts of this tour. There is also some great photo ops and he offers to take pictures. It was very great. I learned a lot about coffee, sugar... 更多
This was one of the best tours I have experienced anywhere. The tour included transportation from our hotel in Santa Elena and back again. Our tour guide was a member of the family that owns El Trapiche, a small farm that produces sugar, cocoa, and coffee. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the production processes and spoke excellent... 更多
This was a fantastic tour which was try informative and interesting. Having done the chocolate museum/workshop in Antigua, I had hoped that element wouldn't have been repetitive, but it was great to see a more in depth process. There were lots of treats to try along the way and there was most certainly a sugary, caffeinated high at the end!... 更多
I love coffee, sugar, and cocoa, so this was a perfect tour for me. We were in a group of ~12 people with one tour guide. The tour was approximately 2-3 hours if I had to guess. Our tour guide was incredibly friendly and fun, with tons of interesting facts about coffee, sugar cane, and cocoa plants that I was... 更多
We arranged our tour of El Trapiche through our bed and breakfast. We were picked up and delivered to El Trapiche and had transport back to our lodgings afterwards. An English speaking guide showed us (our family and about 10 other guests) around the property, thoroughly explaining the harvest and processing of sugar cane, coffee and cacao. The tour had... 更多
We were a bit unsure how much we would enjoy this tour as the rain was beating down much of the afternoon. However much of the exhibits are under cover and it did not spoil it as there is a lot to see and the guides give so much information. As with everything we did in Costa Rica, the organisation... 更多
This tour is just WAY too long, monopolizing many hours of your day in Monteverde. The coffee is below average for Costa Rica. The best parts of the tour was the ride on the ox cart. Seriously, I couldn't wait for the tour to be over.
