We visited Jukkasjärvi's church in July 2016. The church was built in the beginning of the 17th century, and is in a wonderful location, almost by the water. We took a walk from the Ice hotel to see the Sami village camp and wondered around the church. It was open and warm and set right on the banks of the river. Certainly worth visiting.
I love visiting churches in countries that I visit and this was a gem! Small and still in use today. Beautiful wooden plaques of ancient Sami traditions at the altar and well preserved. Takes about 20 minutes max to view and take some pics. Worth the visit! FREE with plenty of parking. Nice grounds with a small burial area.
Of interest, among other things, the humanist painting above the altar (as in the Kiruna church). Nice to find something worth visiting or doing that was free.
Unfortunately we were too late to go inside this church which was a shame as it looked adorable from the outside. Right next to the Sami Camp so if you are heading to that take a look. I think it shut at 4pm
Lovely walk from the hotel to the church, the trees were covered in snow and it was beautiful - church was very interesting but always busy with coach parties.

Skidooing, dog sledding, skiing etc. Expect cold temperatures but they will provide the best clothes to keep warm. It is worth having your own cabin to store your clothes whilst staying on the cold side rather that just... 更多
We visited this location as part of a photo tour in the area. It's a stunning small church in beautiful surroundings, and a well stocked gift shop for tourists. Beautiful!!!
