Very good day trip! Lots of camping in the area. As for small kids, I'd recommend only doing the first cavern. We parked at Parent Beach and walked the 5 km on route 50 to Lusk Cave (wear running shoes; it took 1hr.). Other options: park at Smith Beach and reduce the walk somewhat; bike (bike stand at the end... 更多
Definitely bring a headlamp! I was nervous to go through since I was there on my own. But it is a short cave and very cool to see. I wore running shoes and would not recommend sandals.
My teens loved this place! So did my husband and I. The hike to the cave is enough of a trek so bring a snack or pack a picnic. The hike is beautiful. We found little swim spots to explore all over the place. The cave is dark so bring a flashlight, the ones that strap to your head are... 更多
Came here the other day with a group of 26. Despite the light drizzle and cool temperature, we decided to tackle the hike and cave exploration. Definitely worth the trip! I agree with previous reviews that there was very poor signage - we got lost a couple of times on the way to the caves. When we arrived at the... 更多
Lusk Cave is a prominent feature of Gatineau Park in Quebec. It is reached via a fairly easy hike along the shore of Lac Philippe. Alternatively, there is a slightly more taxing inland route that traverses a number of hills and valleys. Neither route will make a mountain man out of you, however. The cave itself is actually a subterranean... 更多
This was amazing. One hour very brisk walk from parking lot to get to the caves. You can shave off 30 minutes if you bring a bicycle. The only cost is $11 for parking, but you can also hit the lac Philippe beach. Absolute must to bring flashlight or headlamp. Should also bring bathing suit and water shoes/Croks
Key points: - Caves are within Lac Philippe provincial park - Amazing experience! - You will get wet. - Bring a flashlight. - not recommended for children under 8, anyone who can't swim, or anyone claustrophobic. From the Parent Beach parking lot in Lac Philippe provincial park ($11 per vehicle day fee or you can book a campsite) it is... 更多
Really neat experience! I was a bit nervous at first especially in the second cave, totally pitch black! But it was beautiful. We went with our 2 daughters (9-13) and they love it too. Bring water shoes and head lamp. Helmet would be a good idea for the second cave. We decided to go through the cave a second time... 更多
Our family of four does this cave at least twice a summer and it's a favourite spot to bring visiting friends and family. There is definitely a tight squeeze in the second half where you actually have to duck your head almost into the water to pass under the rock ceiling, but there is a place midway through the cave... 更多
Luskville cave is an amazing way to spend the day! I recommend taking the longer more interesting trail instead of walking the 50. Bring a headlamp and take your time! Climb high and don't be afraid to squeeze through the smaller spaces. You'll find it's worth it!
