The best monastery in Tawang hands down. Although I have seen more impressive monasteries in other parts of India. A must visit if you are in Tawang. The museum on the premises will give you an overview of all the famous people who have visited this monastery along with displays of old artefacts.
Old monastery, also have a very small museum, which can be really skipped. Looks really big from distance but the main prayer hall at the end is relatively small

The highlight of the Tawang visit. This is a historical place with great significance. One of the largest monasteries outside Tibet. The carvings and the paintings inside the main temple are exquisite and the museum in the premises are cherry on the top. Must must visit
It is one of the biggest Monastrey in Asia. Beautifully decorated. It has it's own museum, showing lot of photographs, utensils used by the lamas, painting.

The tawang monastery is considered to be the 2nd largest in the world ...it is a big area on a hill overlooking tawang town.the atmosphere in the monastery is quaint.we met a lot of little kids who were learning there.the idol of lord buddha is simpky amazing.dont miss this place when in tawang.
