This fascinating museum in the small town of Pateley Bridge is a real hidden gem. A huge collection of everyday objects from the local area, donated by local people have been displayed in different areas of interest, showing all aspects of work in the locality e.g. a shop, the blacksmith, a hospital room, cobbler, farming equipment, plus displays of clothing,... 更多
I am sat in the very small carpark outside the museum and it is SHUT even though the website says it is open. It is only open on Saturdays and Sundays 13.30 to 16.30 but you are not told until you get to the door. Parking spaces are not in abundance. The website and signage in the town need brought... 更多
This museum is far more interesting than many larger funded ones. It is really well set out with an enormous variety of displays. It is incredible how they have packed so much into a relatively small space. Each display has been well thought out and full of interesting objects, costumes etc. It is a must see place if in the... 更多
This museum was recommended by the landlord of The Grantley Arms where we had called for morning coffee. It isn't very well sign posted and we had to ask for directions. What a fantastic place this is. So much to see and really well arranged. The volunteer staff are very enthusiastic and helpful. Especially liked the 1950's clothing and fabrics... 更多
This volunteer-run museum is really fantastic. It really fulfils its objective of representing many varied aspects of life in the local area over many many years. There are displays to appeal to all age groups ...... something for everyone
This is an amazing museum, you don't need to be rich to go either. It's very well laid out, very interesting, and everyone who goes will enjoy it, a must see.
We visited Nidderdale Museum on our first day visiting Pateley Bridge. The museum is staffed by local volunteer's who clearly know and are very proud of their local area. And rightly so! I grew up in Yorkshire so there were many 'ahhh, I remember that / those moments' :). It was a lovely trip down memory lane. We have visited... 更多
I like museums anyway because I am a nostalgia fan. Great place looking back at how life was with various tradesmen scenes, clothes displays, shops etc. Very well kept, minimal charge to get in and friendly staff. Takes about an hour. Great for children and rainy days.
