Off the beaten path but worth the drive. Follow signs west from Duck Lake and learn about the fur trade as well as the Riel Rebellion. The staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. After a stop in the reception building where you can learn about local history, stroll down to the rebuilt fort, once home to a Hudson Bay... 更多
I thought Fort Carlton was great to see. It's not the original fort but it's been rebuilt on the same location and thereby gives you an authentic feel of what the original buildings must have been like. We also cooked some bannock-on-a-stick over an open fire and had tea while there. Great experience for everyone.
Fort Carlton is certainly worth a visit. We got to make Bannock bread on the open fire, got tea and beef jerky as part of the experience. The guide who took us through the buildings was very good and knowledgeable. There was lots to see and was really pleasant. A good family day out all round.

With the power of the Internet we found that there was some very interesting history in this town of 600. The most interesting was a fur trading outpost located near it so we decided to go off trail. Are we... 更多
We found this attraction to be very pleasant. The tour operators seemed very knowledgable and friendly. The 1km round trip walk down to the river was very nice, with the tall parkland trees offering shade. Then we walked the path (approx .5km each way) to the top of the hill which offered a very scenic view of the Fort and... 更多
I'm giving Fort Carlton a Terrible rating, because of the fact it was not open for the May long weekend, which was really surprising since this is usually when most of these historical sites do open there doors. We drove a long way, and so this was disappointing. The road is rough and very poor in spots, so drive carefully... 更多
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND VISITING THIS CANADIAN HISTORICAL SITE, It has very important history about the 1885 events of the Fort, Fur Trade, and the Rebellion of 1885. Especially the North West Mounted Police and the French people and the Indians of the area..... Bernie in Indiana USA
After checking and double checking hours of operation for this attraction, we drove all the way out there only to... 更多
