This temple is one of the Aarupadai Veedu dedicated to Lord Murugan. You can also see Lord Siva and Parvathi Devi here. Best time to have darshan is in the morning from 7 AM when you can see all "abhishekam" and then the "alankaram". The "alankaram" here is the best I have seen in all of the other Aaraupadai Veedu.... 更多

Lord Murugan in this place has said the meaning of pranava mantra to Lord Shiva. Nice place to visit. The most irritating act which I don't like is the entrance fee collected by the local person for cars and cabs. Government must make an announcement for free parking. these locals collecting RS 20 for entering nearer to swami malai, but... 更多
We had visited the temple in Jan. Stayed in Kumbakonam, as there are multiple options with low-high price range. Hardly 7-9 km from Kumbakonam to Swamimalai temple. Kumbakonam itself has nearly 150 temples, which include the 15 ancient temples (great, huge and architecturally & spiritually magnificent). Swamimalai temple is well maintained, Murugan looks magnificent here..must visit place for anyone I... 更多
The best part about this temple is that you can have a peaceful darshan. It is not crowded even on special days. It doesn't have a huge number of steps and so is a good place to visit with elders.
Around 7 Kms from Kumbakonam...it is considered the place where Lord Muruga had given the meaning of the word 'OHM' to his father Lord Shiva. One of the 6 important places of worship of Lord Muruga. Well maintained temple. There are 60 steps to climb.
