Visited with 2 teenage boys (17 & 14), took the only taxi service that operates to the park (a fun thing for itself, they are 4 x 4 jeeps that serve as the taxi company). Did the longest ride to the peek (50 minute ride in the jeep) and then an easy 3 to 4 hours walk down to the... 更多
We enjoyed our visit to Aiguestortes- Sant Maurici lake (which is not really a lake- it is a reservoir, as the water is held by a man made dam). We enjoyed it, althogh we did not do all the treks we planned- the treks are not all marked well and not always possible to walk.
We went with my parents, in their late 70's and did the main walk from Lake Ratera to Sant Maurici. There were fantastic views at Lake Ratera and the amazing 50m waterfall down to the crystal clear lake Sant Maurici. It wasn't difficult and we passed some locals walking their dogs even. We spent around 4 hrs doing the 4... 更多
Absolutely incredible park! My wife and I stayed in Espot and hiked the Estany d'Amitges/Refuge d'Amitges to Estany de Sant Maurici trail in late-September. It was a beautiful hike from top to bottom, and was really peaceful at the time of year we went. We found it hard to figure out the best way to do this hike by reading... 更多
We took a jeep (they call it "taxi") from Espot to the entrance of the park. You could drive your car to a car park which is located between Espot and the entrance of the park, however you would have to walk about 1 hour to the entrance of the park if you did that. There are many different routes... 更多
Will post info about visiting the park without a car (travelling with InterRail pass): GETTING TO ESPOT (on public transport): we took the train from Lleida to Pobla de Segur (FGC train - Interrail pass only gives you 50% discount on tickets, so €3.50 each way) - amazing views. (Think there is an ALSA bus that does the same journey.)... 更多
We spent a few hours walking through this area up to the lake and back. One could definitely spend the whole day here and even overnight in the refuge if you plan properly. It's the most beautiful natural park I've ever seen and I'm glad we made the detour to reach it.
You will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of some of the most beautiful spots in the Spanish Pyrenees. You can opt for going all the way up in a 'taxi' jeep or walk. The mountain top refuge is a must and offers good food. The walk down will take you through big natural lakes, waterfalls and wonderful landscapes.
