We frequent Bowood house and gardens quite often, it is close to home, offers something for everyone and brings back great childhood memories. Unfortunately it is only open during the warmer months (April - November) and offers nothing during winter time, so a season ticket should be weighed against your ability to visit often during fair weather. I used to... 更多
Arguably one of the best hotel resort i've stayed in...classy, clean. Surrounded by nature and great views. Perfect getaway for couples, families who want time-out from city living. Everything is just very well put together! Will be back if i get a chance.
Really enjoyed our visit to Bowood House and Gardens - beautiful exhibitions in property, particularly about Capability Brown - well worth a visit to the Cascade to take pictures in Autumn sunlight
Well laid out and very scenic gardens - typical Capability Brown style with a curved lake, and a cottage and a Doric temple visible from various viewpoints. The house is interesting, too and there is a little area with farm animals which we enjoyed looking at, even though we did not have any children with us.

We went there as a family to attend a country fair. The approach through the grounds was a wonderful insight into how a country estate should and could be set out and run. As an aside it is a fair bet that in season the rhododendrons are worth the trip. The grounds and gardens are fantastic, well laid out and... 更多
i am sorry to have to write this review but feel I have no alternative as the result of my previous complaint has been severely mishandled. I phoned the house (after sending two emails with no reply!) to complain that we had not been informed that there was no way of seeing more than the first floor of the house.... 更多
My husband and I spent a Sunday afternoon at Bowood during the winter. Although the house and gardens are beautiful, I feel that the prices they charge for entry are extortionate! When my nieces and nephews visited, we couldn't afford to go as a family because of the expense. The gardens are beautiful though especially in spring with the breathtaking... 更多
