We visited this in May as part of a car rally and then went again last weekend. Even though we live nearby we hadn't been before. Lovely house in a very peaceful setting. Only the groundfloor is accessible to wheelchairs.
Top place. House is very well presented by NT Volunteers. Each room charts the development of the house over 500 years. Lovely grounds. Take a chair and sit by the "moat", read and chill. Also park in the top carpark and walk through the woods and fields to the house. Takes about 20 mins and is about a mile. Steep... 更多
not been for a couple of years but have now opened several more rooms so much more to see. sitting on a bench looking at the ducks in the moat whilst eating your sandwiches is super. lots of walks. the ice cream is to die for. had orange and grand marnier. might go back just for that but no well... 更多
We were meant to go somewhere else, but we decided to go to Brockhampton as it is near where we live and we had a lovely surprise when we got there. They had bird of prey display and it was really good, although we missed most of it. Brockhampton is also a lovely place to go round. and there are... 更多
It's a few years since we last visited Lower Brockhampton but after this visit wondered why. After a delicious cream tea in the Apple Store Tea Room, we drove the mile or so down to the house to find that there is now so much more to see inside and that the surrounding area has been much tidied up. Lower... 更多
We visited as a NT property we havent been to in the past and were really surprised by the Woodland trails and the Manor House's historical significance. You need to bring your sturdy boots and walking sticks as some of the trails are rather slippery in places but was a lovely challenge to all of us.
We had lunch in the cafe before walking down to the house. For some reason the staff member/volunteer was keen to discourage us from walking down to the house and was advising everyone to drive - maybe due to the smaller size of the top car park. However, we walked the mile and a little bit downhill along the tree... 更多
The sun was out, the sky was blue and then we walked up to the Manor House to find a 'magical' cotttage/manor house. The gardens were in full bloom and you could smell the roses. Ducks on the water. What more could you want. My wife sat on the swing. Inside each room was laid out with interesting objects and... 更多
We just love Brockhampton Estate, such a natural place, in a lovely setting. The house is small and fascinating. If you look in the dining hall at the chair in the right hand corner, you will see it is a 'man's' chair, and the little replica at the side misses the one detail that tells you that. Ask the very... 更多
We visited this National Trust property on a weekend away and found it very picturesque and interesting. It was also very peaceful to sit near the moat with its lovely lilies and enjoy an ice cream or coffee in the courtyard cafe.
