Not so much the architecture which is impressive enough but the thoroughly uplifting chorus from the choir/congregation.....a moment in time, long to remember
The church of Josselin is not too large nor too small, it is beautifully proportioned. The "vitraux" or stained glass are breathtaking. They also play the organ on Saturday evening, you can walk in and listen, truly an out of time experience. Since the doors are open during the organ session which is at 6, 7 pm, you can sit... 更多
Had read the reviews about the tower views before visiting today, but it was pouring with rain and blustery so we have it a miss. The church though is absolutely beautiful and has some of the best stained glass windows we have seen. The church has a lovely peaceful quality, with lots of lovely quirks. The tourist information centre told us of the free climb to the top of the Basilica. It was very windy and quite cold, but the views are wonderful looking over the slate roof tops.
A well proportioned church, anotther nice example of Breton churches includes the beautifully carved marble tomb of Olivier Roncier and his wife-
This is a pretty church with nice glass, but the interior is rather dark. Some interesting tombs. Time did not permit us to climb the tower. In hindsight, we probably should have since we were there on a perfect day for photos.
Well, we have been in Josselin at a day were a fair are being held. It was a very fine moment were we have tried some Breton specialties. Impressive architecture and stained glass windows. Helpful attendant and entry is free. If you've got a head for heights then the tower is a must for the views
