This was our second visit here and it was most enjoyable. It has to be the most relaxing place ever. Our suite, the vlei suite, is beautiful and very comfortable with a huge bathroom with a free standing bath and separate shower. The food was good but the menus very limited. We're not fussy eaters so it was fine for... 更多

A well run park by Cape Nature with various antelopes. Do not expect to see the big 5, but then again, here you can leave your vehicle and explore. The road leading into De Hoop may seem like you are travelling to a farm, but the De Hoop Collection offers much more. Travelling into the park you quickly travel through... 更多

What an experience, a perfect way to spend the day! We came at 9 in the morning and only ended leaving at 4pm. And we only explored about 40% of it! We started of not expecting much after spending about 40 minutes on gravel road. We had to pay an entrance of R40 (pp) and we were let in, we... 更多

De Hoop is bit of a drive from anywhere, but that's really the point. It's a wonderfully quiet getaway where the best thing to do is nothing at all. The park is home to a small array of large game, including Eland, the rare Bontebok, and zebra, but the real attraction is the natural beauty of the fynbos, the lagoon... 更多

The reserve is a very special place. Did a cycle with the family thru the reserve and which is something highly recommended. Food is fantastic but a bit limited and a touch pricey for what is on offer. Have also been in whale season and the marine sanctuary and nursery offers fantastic whale sighting opportunities. Saw approx 20 whales in... 更多
Out of the 2718 photos I took in South Africa, those from De Hoop are the absolute most breathtaking. Whether it was waking up and opening the front door to Ostriches in the yard before breakfast, Zebras in mid-morning or dassies on the flay on an afternoon waltz, this reserve is teeming with wildlife. The 20 minute drive to the... 更多
We set off down a track to De Hoop not realising it was 35 Kms long and began to wonder where we were goi g but we were not disappointed. De Hoop Nature Reserve is a beautifully kept reserve with amazing accommodation and restaurant. A memorable few days.

This is the best whale-watching site ever. Because its a protected area, the beach is beautiful with loads of protected swimming and sun-bathing areas. Los of wild animals and even a couple of small wildcats to see as well as owls when you lucky enough and not in a hurry.
Dear Anne, Thank you so much for visiting De Hoop and for taking the time to write this lovely review... 更多
Beautiful beautiful beautiful and not crowded at all. This nature reserve was one of many highlights on our trip from Cape Town to Storms River Mouth. Many animals (Elands, Buntbock, Zebras, Birds, etc.) and a diverse landscape (fynbos, beautiful white sand dunes, blue ocean, wetlands...) just amazing!
Thank you for the great feedback snowbliss! It is great to hear that you enjoyed your visit to De Hoop... 更多
The park is lovely and the accommodation was really good. Don't go for one night as it's about 50km on a unsealed road. Everyone was very helpful but the bike ride instructions were terrible and there were hardly any signs along the track. In fact the whole bike experience wasn't good - you would need to like riding on very... 更多
