We decided to bus from Merida to Celestun at 10:00 am for 232 pesos return for two of us. As we didn't know what time we would be returning we bought the return in Celestun. The bus ride was interesting as we got to pass through several little towns on the way during the two hour bus ride. The bus... 更多
We were unsure if there would see flamigos. We went about 1pm and saw about 4000. What an awesome experience. No bargaining with boat owners. Everything now goes through ticket office. We waited about 10 mins for 3 others to join us costing each $318mx pesos. $16us. And our boat driver spoke English Yay! We also saw lots of other... 更多
took second class bus from Noreste terminal in Merida for about 4 bucks. When you come into Celestun ask driver to stop on the west side of the bridge and walk over to the boats. You don't go into the gulf this way, but it's faster to the flamingoes. There were 4 of us in the boat with our guide... 更多
Took a boat with 4 other people that were there at the same time as I. Easy to organize a group. Saw the flamigos and many other birds during the 2 hour trip. Enjoyed going through the heart of the mangroves.

There were perhaps 2 other launches on the water when we were there--a total of maybe 20 people on the estuary late afternoon (got there around... 更多
My husband and I really loved this trip. We booked it through our hotel and paid USD$70 for both is us. Pick up from hotel (1 hour travel) and entrance fee to place. This could have cost us much less if we did it ourselves. The bus to Celestun costs $4 and takes two hours from the center of Merida.... 更多

There are two different places where you can rent boats in Celestun (the tour from merida is not necessary to catch a boat): One right after the bridge when you enter Celestun and the other one when you drive the road through to the ocean (Mexican Golf). We took the second one with advantages and disadvantages: + The nice restaurants... 更多
