We walked past this on our way down to see the river and it is a very nice monument and very well maintained. Nice to see if you are coming to the area to see the river. The day we were there some one had place beautiful flowers on the monument.
Boa Vista is a town of little renown. It is a stopover, and no more. It has, however, a rather pretty square in the centre with some older Portuguese buildings (late 19th century), a new river walk and this dramatic piece of sculpture.
