We visited this attraction on the recommendation of one of our hotel staff and we are glad we made the effort to go. The entry statement is quite eye catching with beautifully manicured lawns and gardens to compliment the entry proper. Once you enter the grounds you can feel a certain amount of aura about the place. The memorial and... 更多
It was deeply moving to walk through the grounds of this World War II cemetery. The only American war cemetery in The Netherlands, it is immaculately maintained and is a fitting tribute to these men who gave their lives for a greater cause.
This is a beautiful cemetery for those who lost their lives in European. The Dutch have not forgotten their sacrifice and a family adopts a grave of a soldier sometimes passing it down from generation to generation. My uncle is buried there and we were fortunate to meet the family who takes care of his grave and really cares about... 更多
I had never heard of this cemetery, but we were taken here by a local guide who thought we'd like it ... and she was right. It's a lovely, moving location, with thousands of graves well maintained in part by Dutch families who "adopt" one of the plots. The cemetery is nicely laid out, fronted by a peaceful fountain and... 更多
We have lived here in the Netherlands for 5 years now and have come to this Service every year. It is so extremely moving to see and hear all the heartfelt thanks and tributes given to our fallen Service Men. Our friends Uncle lies buried here and we visit his grave in Honour each and every year also. The weather... 更多
as a kid I used to go every year on memorial day . My dad showed us and educated us about the sacrifices Americans made for freedom. And now I live in America with two kids of my own. And I hope I passed that insight to my kids. . I still go back when I can and visit the... 更多
Our tour included this and although we're not cemetery people, nor do we have relatives buried here we're glad we came. Our guide was excellent and kept us moving. I was most impressed with the layout and the spectacular maintenance.
The Dutch take very good care of the American Cemetery. We have been a couple times. It's a quite place to say a prayer and reflect over all the men who gave their lives.
Adopted a grave several years ago. And every time I visit the cemetery I'm impressed by the waste of so many lives. Especially when you dig further in the war history, get more vision about the soldier's way of live, the way off surviving the war the embarrassing, the suffering of their families. That's wy the may not be forgotten.
