We visited the cemetery because we were visiting the National Liberation Museum. Thankfully, we have no family buried here but as Canadians we wanted to visit so our sons could see some of the sacrifices the soldiers made
Peaceful and well maintained cemetery. Gives you an impression of the huge number of casualties. A good educational experience for children. A must see in combination with the Liberation Museum.
A moving experience to visit my uncles grave he lost his life aged 22 years leaving a 10 month old son and wife. A wonderful setting worth a visit to say thank you.
On the way to/from the Liberation Museum be sure and visit the cemetery for a moving example of the sacrifices that were made to free this country in WWII. Not as large as the cemeteries near Normandy, but impressive to be sure. Complements what you learned at the Museum.
When visiting the National Liberation Museum be sure to stop at this War Cemetery. A school child is assigned a grave site..to make sure it is kept clean all year around, and the cemetery is definitely in pristine condition. A must stop when in the area.
