The Mahabaleshwar Temple, Gokarna is a Hindu temple located in Gokarna a Hindu religious pilgrimage centre in Uttara Kannada district in the Indian State of Karnataka. After visiting the garbhagrih as the entire setting complete with the vedic hymns chanting & the floral decoration of Lord Shiva aathma linga makes you feel blessed. Do not forget to see the hand-drawn huge chariot of Lord Shiva; a wonderful masterpiece... 更多
Gokarna and the Mahabaleshwar Temple are as ancient as they come. 2 mins with the wiki page and that is evident enough. Today, they are also off the beaten track (even in our day and age of over-exposure) and have been frequented by hippies as the third vertex in their triangle (the other 2 being Goa and Hampi). Small non crowded and beautiful temple, its in a compound surrounded by the math kind of architecture and the whole temple is a delight for any one who is interested in religion or old architecture. The authentic and old temple building is still excellently preserved through tradition. No middlemen and other problems found in commercialized religious places.
Left Kumta early by 6:30AM for Gokarna temple darshan. Reached temple by 7:30 and performed Navadhanya and panchamrutha Abhshekha to the Lord Shiva atma linga. Very pleasant visit and experience. Had visited Goddess Parvati and Ganesha temples and came back to Kumta by 10AM.
Every body feels blessed and spiritually charged after Puja. I would like to say every one who visits here to perform Abhishekam which gives to an energy..

Temple is open from 6am to 12:30 noon and then 5... 更多
A true holy place worth to visit. You can see many cute calves walking inside the temple. The beach nearby is wonderful. The speed boat service is thrilling. You can also have some shopping here but is a little expensive. Getting your vehicle out of this place can be tricky. For me, this place was magical.
we were lucky to go when there was no crowd at all. Men have to remove shirt to enter and women preferable in indian clothing. the sanctum Santorum is unfortunately heavily crowded, dirty and extremely hot. overall a good temple.
