The castle is well maintained and has great views. The staff is very helpful and better than those at the Museo della Grande Guerra.
This would be a great place to visit if it were administered by people who knew something about tourism and communication. They have a dramatically sited, formidable castle. But they don't know how to explain it or present it. About five percent of the signage is in English, and we should call it "English" because while most of the words... 更多
Enjoy views over Slovenia and Italy from one of the smallest castles in Italy built in the 11th century. Houses the Museum of the Middle Ages of Gorizia. Walk around the castle walls and step back in time
The Castle of Gorizia is situated on a hill right above the old part of the city and is reachable by car or by walking. Unfortunately, it's not suitable for people with special needs (the castle has many stairs and a steep road, before you reach the entrance). The castle offers you several exhibitions, including Medieval instruments and artillery, and... 更多
During the climb to the castle hill, that joins the old town of gorizia with ancient "borgo castello", you can already feel the atmosphere of the past, but only when you will cross the main gate of maniero that you are inside . The huge gate, with the Venice's lion on the top, carries in the core of the fortress.... 更多
I visited the castle in August and it was very hot outside, therefore the castle's shadowy and cold rooms were like a blessing. From time to time, to better show the spirut of th times, mannequins were dressed up and put in the rooms as peasants, priests or soldiers. The priests in one of the rooms were dressed in black... 更多
The castle of Gorizia is situated up on a hill so arriving you get the best view of the city from above! The castle has a parking spot, but you can walk the distance from the train station which... 更多
We spent a fair amount of time discovering this castle which also exhibited musical instruments - most impressive. We were Impressed with the 11th to 16th century castle. The views are great walking around the castle walls. Also the 80th anniversary of the Isonzo battles between Italy and Austria, sadly no English translations
To visit at least once if you are in Gorizia. Great view of the entire city, especially during the evening. The interior is small but it is a very lovely castle, with courtyards and characterized by a special history.
