This museum was rather underwhelming compared to the one in Cavendish. It felt more like a tourist trap than the other, which was a great experience. We came across this first and were disappointed until we found the other one. I would recommend skipping it and heading to Cavendish.
I loved the Anne of Green Gables homestead which L.M. Montgomery used as the home of Anne in her books. The house was furnished in the period (1908) and set in pretty grounds. Lovers Lane is to one side and an antique carriage stands beside a large barn. The homestead was close to where the author lived and belonged to... 更多
If you like Anne of GG, you would enjoy this museum. The ground was nice to linger. It really had that old PEI feel and look. Lots of parking. $6 to get into the self guided tour of the main house. Lots of historic artifacts on the author. There was a horse drawn buggy to hire. $100 an hour up... 更多
We went here as part of a cruise ship excursion. It was a pleasant tour and we enjoyed strolling along Lovers Lane after being on the ship for days. We watched the movie before going on our trip so it added to our enjoyment of the tour. There is a snack bar and plenty of parking.
I had not read the book nor seen the movie so this was new information to me. I found the museum and staff to be terrific and I particularly likes the short hiking trails. Really a nice relaxing place to visit with lots of outside spots to sit and enjoy the view. Gold course nearby looked inviting but we were... 更多
Having read Anne of Green Gables years ago and thoroughly in love with the whole series, I was thrilled to be able to see area where L.M. Montgomery grew up. It was fun to look around. It's very busy and can get quite crowded. Quite a few trails and really quite a beautiful location. There's a small shop to get... 更多
We were in PEI for a month and felt like we really needed to visit this museum before we left. Not knowing what to expect we drove out to Kensington with our 2 young boys... The property and surrounding area is beautiful and you can see how it would be the inspiration for a book. Unfortunately, the house itself, is... 更多
I think the author loved this home not because of the building itself but because of those who lived there. It was nice to look around although the staff could have been much more helpful upon entrance and it's obvious the woman says the exact same words to every visitor with no real care that they learn anything about the... 更多
