Quaint little port town on the Waddensee, with ferry links to Wadden islands. The town is picturesque and has a nice vibe. There are a good selection of restaurants and pubs that will keep you entertained for a couple of nights.

Harlingen is a quaint little sea side port that is often windy and not exactly warm but it has a charm to it that draws me to it.
Beautiful historic buildings, canals and tall ships. This is a place that I often daydream about.
No visit to Harlingen can be enjoyed without a visit to the Port. It's a blend of Old Europe mixed with modern technology that evokes a memory of what it must have been like hundreds of years ago. It's been beautifully maintained as well without ruining the old flavor - we loved it!
Harlingen showcases the maritime heritage of the Netherlands in a gorgeously attractive, historically fascinating, inner-harbour setting, as well as in its still very active main harbour and docks. For anyone with even the slightest interest in maritime history, it is a gem of a place and is not to be missed.
