From our first walk in the morning mist, to our visit in the afternoon, under brilliant blue skies, we enjoyed every moment we spent on the grounds of Twickel. We did not tour the inside of the castle, but enjoyed the gardens very much. Highly recommended!
I rode my bicycle here from Hengelo. There are occasional groups of tourists, but nothing that was disrupt the peace and tranquility of this place. Worth a visit if you're in the area! Otherwise, the view of the castle and the surrounding park is all there is to see.
It's such a gorgeous place to walk around, lots of history to it but we were lucky to have a guide telling us all about it. Well worth a walk around.
I would have given this excellent rating if the castle could be viewed internally but this is reserved for small private groups. However the gardens were well worth seeing giving great external views of the castle and moat. Grounds are impeccably well maintained and don't miss the orangery.Really good gift shop selling souvenirs/wine etc If you visit best to go in... 更多
This castle can only be visited by booking a tour. The tour is quite interesting, with many stories about former inhabitants and their hobbies (I remember a composer of classical music). The rooms are nicely decorated, as is usually the case in castles open to the public. The salt museum in Delden is within walking distance.
Fantastic and impressive!! The castle is only open for about 20 days per year but when it is open you must make an effort to visit Twickel castle. The riches, wealth of days gone by and the impressive history is something that will immensely impress you. Included in the ticket is a visit to the park, beautiful and serene with... 更多
