We hiked this with grandchildren 10 and 13. Appreciated the lake at the end of our trail. Nice spot for a picnic and all enjoyed dipping our hot feet in the cold mountain lake. We also enjoyed the view of the climbers on the dome.
Moderate hike but it is not very difficult to climb the dome for incredible views. you can also take short hikes to alpine lakes. We got a little lost and ended up getting dumped out on the road to hike back to parking lot. This road is dangerous with no shoulder. Definitely hike it if you have the chance

We parked in the Dog Lake car park which is near the lodge and walked up the hill following the Dog Lake trail and then over the road continuing up the hill. You come to a junction and go left signposted Lembert Dome after a short while you get to the dome and need to scramble to the top.
We had a very nice time exploring the area. One of our family members was sick, so this made a nice visit without having to hike to deep into the woods. There's plenty of great views just yards from the road.
There many domes in Yosemite but this is one to not miss. It is right off the road and a good moderate hike. It starts in the forest and ends at scramble up a huge rock. The beauty of this dome is you can go up anywhere one feel comfortable. Also the rock has very good grip so you don't... 更多
