I visited here to purchase my National Forest Service Lifetime Senior Pass prior to the price increase from $10 to $80. I have lived in the area most of my life and had never been to the Taft house. I ended up spending close to two hours talking with the National Park Service Ranger and learning a lot about the... 更多
Stopped in on Friday early and only one other couple. The Ranger giving the home tour was very knowledgeable about Taft's upbringing and Presidency. Tour took about 40 minutes. Very basic home but interesting, exhibits look a little dated but information was good. It's free!
This is one of the smaller presidential tours we've taken. The visitor center shows a video and shows some artifacts. Touring the old house shows how the family lived. The tour guides were great telling about his life and accomplishments. With the guides stories and what was shown on the video and readings in the center, one gets what a... 更多
Knowing very little about Taft, my friends and I stopped here en route to Louisville. The ranger who gave us the tour was animated and interesting, sharing many family stories about Taft's childhood. At the end of the tour, there was time to look at exhibits, watch a movie, and visit a small museum. I really enjoyed my time there,... 更多
Near the top of the hill on Auburn Ave is the William Howard Taft National Historic Site. The visitor's center is a tiny building next to the house with a similarly small parking lot in front. The visitor's center has a nice film about Taft. It was very detailed and we learned a lot about Taft's life. The house tour... 更多
My husband and I love history stuff so this was right up our alley. I think it is a must see because it IS our Ohio history . Didn't know much about him and his family until I went. The Rangers are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the lovely house and the information !
This was a quick stop on our way home. We visited with our children, ages 12, 11, and 7. The house was very nice. The second floor was all exhibits. The exhibits were well done. The children focused their attention on the Junior Ranger Book that was passed out at the beginning of the tour. The Park Ranger spoke on... 更多
We took a fairly quick little excursion to the boyhood home of our 27th President (less than 2 hours from Columbus). It is not a large or extensive museum (also not crowded on a weekday), but it does give you a nice overview of his life and times. The location is convenient, very close to downtown Cincinnati, the Park Service... 更多
What a wonderful place to visit despite being in Cincinnati. After a steep drive up a never ending hill, the house appears on your right, it is a large house for a large family. There are not a lot of artifacts as the house has its own history throughout the years that you learn about with the information plaques. There... 更多
