What a wonderful place to visit despite being in Cincinnati. After a steep drive up a never ending hill, the house appears on your right, it is a large house for a large family. There are not a lot of artifacts as the house has its own history throughout the years that you learn about with the information plaques. There... 更多
got to see his boyhood home (stairs elevator broke) so only got to see first floor - next door is the musuem with films and lots of history about taft - run by the national parks service and has a small gift shop
Since I am into presidential history this was a place of interest for me. It worked out to be very good and our guide was well versed in this presidents term, accomplishments, and short comings. The house was interesting and the displays explains things well. It is worth taking the time to view this site and it is in a... 更多
House is fine, only a large portion of the house is just exhibits and only a few things in the house belonged to the Taft family. The park ranger spent too much time catering to the "junior Rangers" (they had to take a quiz through the house and the tour guide waited until they had everything written down before moving... 更多
Went to the William Howard Taft national park site and toured around. Not a very big site for a man who was both president and chief justice! Enjoyed it.
This is the only monument to William Howard Taft, the president and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. It is his childhood home and is well preserved. I have to recommend their volunteer guides, they are knowledgeable and entertaining.
Much better than I Expected. Not a well known President for sure. Exhibits tell his Story very well. House is Self guided tour style. Interactive type Exhibits. Beautiful things Appreciate Staff Very nice neighborhood Beware! 8 spaces for parking. Worth the trip to see.
This was a nice surprise! I did not know much about Taft when I arrived but I left as an admirer. The film and the exhibits are really good and the Park Ranger led tour of the house was very informative. Because it is a small site, the visit only requires an hour or so but is well worth it.
I like going to some of the lesser known National Historic Sites. Most are peaceful, informative and don't get a lot of the big crowds that the more popular sites get. This one certainly did not disappoint. I must confess I didn't know a lot about Taft before this visit but certainly appreciated him more after the tour. After learning... 更多
