We went to this location to take a cruise on the Rum Runner II. It was a delightful tour in Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay. The area also had a restaurant and shops.

Bannister's Wharf has a sampling of everything you can find in Newport - from harbor tours to T-shirts - with plenty of drinks & dining (from quick eats to fine dining), with great views of Newport harbor and Jamestown. This place, alongside Bowens Wharf, is the center of Newport. Stores, restaurants, sailboats, yachts, and a constant stream of people. Take a seat outside The Coffee Jar and watch the people parade. Eat in one of the restaurants or visit the Preservation Society's store. You won't want to leave.
Adjacent to Bowen's Wharf, Bannister's Wharf features more restaurants than stores but it is a great place to stroll in the sunshine. At the ocean end of the wharf you can sit on comfy chairs right by the water. The big, beautiful Newport Mansions store has beautiful souvenirs.
