We drove through this on the far south end up to Medora. It is all gravel, but is well worth the trip...The Badlands are mixed in with this, and the colors were beautiful. There are lots of places to take trail rides on that south section. I am glad we took the time to go through it.
I went North to the North Unit of the Teddy Roosevelt National Park. The Campground is called CCC campground. It is on the other side of the river and not crowded at all. I would stay again. But there is not much shade. water pump and clean bathrooms. Turn before you get to the river and before you get to... 更多
We drove most of the roads in the grasslands. It took us two days. We enjoyed every bit of it. For the vast majority of times we were totally alone. The best part is just north of the National Park, going through the park and out the north entrance, then following the gravel road some 30 miles or so along... 更多
We drove through here on our way to Montana from Bismarck. It's one of those places where you need to just put the electronics away and enjoy what your driving by. The nice open expanse of this land makes you proud to be an American.

What I particularly like about the grasslands is the open space, which gives a person a sense of freedom. The region I live in has hilly, wooded terrain and a lot of buildings, and I don’t see... 更多
I was coming from Fort Union via Sydney, MT and heading to Medora, ND. It was a nice drive the whole way. A local in Sydney, who travels the area frequently, told me not to take the first road which said to Medora (HWY 23) because it was bumpy the whole ride, instead go on down to HWY 16 and... 更多
We camped one night with our RV. No RV hookups are available, however if you're needing a place for the night this is wonderful. It is $6; water was available however there are vault toilets. The early morning was filed with bird-song and a walk into the grasslands is peaceful and serene. It's an enjoyable escape from the hustle of... 更多
We were passing through on our way to Theodore Roosevelt National Park and were very thrilled at the open plains. Coming from the East coast you don't see many beautiful undeveloped, flat land that goes on for miles like this. Not much of a stop off place but there were a few scenic pullouts off the interstate when we came... 更多
