The Houdini Museum is top notch. It may not look like much from the outside, but the people that run it and the magic that comes from the stage is wonderful. The History of Houdini is held in the highest regard and people who leave there either enjoy themselves or are not true Houdini Fans.
We went with 3 children ages 8, 10 and 11. The truth is that they loved the magicians and not so much the history part. The magicians were Bravo the Great and Dorothy Deitrich. We did not know these names before going but google them and WOW! We were stunned that we met such famous magicians here in Scranton. We... 更多
A delightful way to spend a few weekend afternoon hours. If you don't believe in magic, Dick and Dorothy will change your mind. The exhibits and magic show are fantastic and will have you scratching your head to figure out how they do it. A treat for any age. Reasonable (less than $20) and highly recommended!
My step daughter and I were looking for something to do and she asked me to look for a museum. I found the Houdini Museum and we drove out there from Wilkes Barre. We only had time to see the show but it was fun.. and I was picked to be in one of the magic tricks! We loved it!!
What a great afternoon we had , we were in USA for 12 days and this was our 10 year olds highlight of the trip , which says it all its a tour/show which lasted nearly 4 hours very informative and magic show at the end was great would highly recommend
This place was such a treat and a great way to kill 40 minutes whilst we waited for other members of our party to join us. The museum started with the origins of the great illusionist who was Houdini, outlining the meeting of he and his wife, his early influences and the experiences that created such an engaging and entertaining... 更多
If you are in the Scranton area or visiting the Poconos, you should make a point of visiting the Houdini Museum. The collection of Houdini material is overflowing with amazing memorabilia. Our group of about 16 was guided from room to room stopping by posters, photos and actual props to hear stories about the life of the famous magician. Following... 更多
Extensive collection of Houdini memorabilia. It is obvious both the hosts feel a real connection to Houdini and his history. Magic acts in three parts. First a vaudeville-style magic act, followed by more traditional stage magic, then another smaller act by the first magician. You are no more than 40 feet from the stage, and can be more like 10... 更多
We took our grandsons, ages 10 & 7, to visit the Houdini Tour and Magic show. It was a 3 1/2 hour show which had us all so excited that we did not want it to end. Dorothy Dietrich and Dick Brookz are both famous magicians and were fabulous. You can really see they were just as excited to teach... 更多
More of an event than a museum. Get there on time, the afternoon is scheduled. First a movie (OK), then a presentation of the biography room (very informative), then an in-depth presentation of the prop room. What a great collection of Houdini stuff! Much is replica, but much is authentic. There's a replica of the water torture chamber. I was... 更多
