Many, many graves marked as unknown soldiers. My friends and I didn't realize just how many soldiers were buried here.

Shilo National Cemetery is on the edge of Shilo Park and was created in 1866. It is a sobering place, as is any military cemetery. It covers a 10 acre area and contains the remains of 3,584 Union soldiers, 2,300 of which are unknown. The age of the cemetery as well as what is written on the headstones makes it... 更多

While at the battlefield make sure to stop by the cemetery to pay your respect and really put the battle into real perspective! So many lives lost. Not all bodies even known and graves with only numbers no names. Cemetery very well maintained.

After visiting the Battlefield, my husband and I visited the Shiloh National Cemetery where the bodies of the Union soldiers were relocated for burial. Many have unkown soldier inscribed and most have just a small white marker with a number inscribed on the top of it.

You must do the film intro first, it puts everything in perspective. The parks service staff are wonderful and do a great job, full credit to the service.

Visited while at the battlefield. Very interesting and realized what these men and young men went through.

To stand at the entrance of this cemetery and gaze across the field at the markers gives one a sense of sorrow. Sorrow that so many had to die on both sides of this war. The first grave we saw was of a young drummer boy. I believe he was 10 years old. It brings tears to my eyes. The... 更多

Visited on a beautiful, very warm day and found myself tearful at the site. A somber yet beautifully kept place for many. Being a parent of a current US Marine, my heart was touched at the reminder that life is sacred.

You have to be humbled by all the men who died for our Country. It is a peaceful setting with large trees. A place I'm sure anyone would approve of as a final resting place.
