A fine place to stop, take a few pictures, have a picnic lunch ... maybe. Better to see from the car driving by where you get the full effect.
This really does look like a Camel!! We spotted it from the highway as we drove past. We did not stop, but there is a turn off where you can park and take a picture.
I can say that it is an interesting oddity and something worth taking a moment to check out. I am not one for this type of thing but I must admit it's cool enough.

I saw the camel shape rock while heading to Taos and immediately attracted my attention. Of course, I took a photo but had no idea that it would be something more to visit. Be prepared to see it after you leave behind the Santa Fe Opera, on your road to Chimayo and Taos.
You can view the camel shaped rock from the freeway which is how I saw it. We were able to take pics from the car. Its a cool thing to see from the car but not sure if its worth getting much closer look.
We drove by this four times. Although I am a picture taking tourist type, I never felt the definitive need to stop and take several photos. Whatever I could get just passing by was enough. Does it look like a giant camel in the high desert? Yes. Is it worth the stop? That's up to you.
