Or so they say, there is some question on the authenticity of "oldest" but it's definitely OLD. Also very beautiful and calming, if you like churches and the history of New Mexico it's worth the $1 admission and taking time to walk through history.
This is worth the time if you're in downtown Santa Fe. You really do get a taste of New Mexico history and architecture while visiting this mission. If you must chose between the mission and the cathedral, choose the mission. The adobe mission has the feel of history both inside and out. The cathedral is nice on the outside but... 更多
This is another MUST to do in town. It is the oldest church in the USA. Down the street form the church is the oldest home in the US. The Pilgrims arrived in 1620 to Plymouth Rock and the Spanish were already here & settled in.
This is not a "can't miss" attraction but is certainly worth the 4-5 blocks one has to walk from the center of town. You do get a real sense of American history as you look at the artifacts in the sanctuary, read about the events in the life of the church and view the glassed in area showing the original... 更多
This is a beautiful adobe church on a pleasant spot along Old Santa Fe Trail between Oldest House and NM Tourism Department Visitor Center. The site is one that should be visited because of its historical significance and because of its special beauty. We enjoyed visiting here on Sunday afternoon, 12 Jun 2016.
Make sure you have learned something about the history of this church and the neighborhood before you see it, for a richer experience. We attended at 5 pm Mass on Sunday and the place was PACKED with locals and a few tourists.
Whoa! This was the best stop in my opinion of all the churches/chapels in Santa Fe. Claimed to be the oldest in the US, you can feel the history when you walk in. Ring the church bell that was made with the personal metallic items of the community and look at the original walls and altar steps. There is possibly... 更多
This is a small building so you might miss or it (or be tempted to skip it) but please don't. It is filled with history, and it only cost us $1 for each person to visit. While it will not take you long to view San Miguel Mission, you will encounter rich history and gorgeous artifacts. Don't forget to see... 更多
