I hike thru Friedrich Wilderness Park 2-3 times a week. It's beautiful, well-maintained and has a network of different trails of all difficulties (from paved walking paths to Level 4 trails that will have you huffing and puffing). You can pop in to Friedrich and, whether you want to hike for 15 minutes or two hours, at a leisurely stroll... 更多
There are plenty of other better parks in San Antonio. Avoid this one at all costs. First off there are only a few parking spaces and many are forced to park on the street. There isn't much of a shoulder and San Antonio police are known to give parking tickets. Secondly, water and facilities are lacking here. Finally dogs are... 更多
I absolutely loved this place. The parking sucked, but who cares about that. We went 3.60 miles through easy to very rough terrain. Next time I come back I will definitely be going here agian! Make sure you have on bug spray, proper shoes, and stay hydrated.
This park is absolutely amazing! My intention was a short run but I ended up exploring for 2.5hrs. The trails are superbly marked including length and difficulty levels on numerous posts along the trail plus there are maps at major trail crossings. Fun climbing on the limestone "cliffs" - beautiful meadows - shady tree trails, this park has it all!... 更多
Driving to this park, I was skeptical that it would be "nature". However, once we parked and hit the trails, the surburban sprawl on the way is forgotten. The trails are very well marked and of varied skill/intensity. We predominantly did trail running but slowed to hike the more technical trails on the backside of the park. There is a... 更多
This has always been an excellent location to hike on well marked and maintained trails. The new Restoration Loop makes this a fantastic workout for someone looking for a great 5 mile hike. There is some elevation gain and the trails have been set to keep the hiker interested with good changes in grade and direction. Worth a visit!!!
This is a city park for San Antonio, but once on the trail, you would think that you're miles from anything. There are several loops, ranging from 2-5 miles. Although it is not accessible, it is suitable for children. Toward the end of the loop, you can see some nice city views.
My favorite thing about this park is there are no dogs. To be more specific no dog poop. I love dogs but I do not love dog poop and for some reason some San Antonio peeps have a hard time picking up after their pups. Friedrich Wilderness Park is clean! Kudos to the managers of this great park.
This park has always been one of my favorites for hiking and enjoying the outdoors without having to drive a long way from the city. They have many different trails that vary in difficulty and some are even wheelchair accessible. The scenic views from the top of the hill are beautiful. If the weather is nice it is best to... 更多
