A wonderful energizing hike up to the dam is approximately 3 miles. Along the way there are so many kodak moments. The peace and tranquility are worth the hike. Take lots of water. Fall and Spring are best times to go. Otherwise leave early in the morning and watch the sunrise.
I have hiked Pima Canyon many times. It is a good workout, climbing up the mountain, until you drop into the canyon. Usually the creek is dry, which helps when hiking. Hike to the end and back in one day. Or head up the mountain from there, but it will be an overnighter. BEAUTIFUL place with large beautiful Saguaros, cliffs... 更多
I've done many hikes around Tucson. This is one of my least favorite. The early trail offers some fine views of Tucson. Then there is a great deal of trail through the scrub and limited views either forward or backward. You have to go quite a distance to get a vista again. It's a beginner+ trail, not as easy or... 更多
We did the first dam what was 4.1 miles, a very pleasurable walk and easy access, good parking and just enough grade to raise the heart beat, fun! Pack food and water and make a day out of it!
We stayed in Northwest Tucson (just off Oracle on Rudasill Rd) and were looking for a place to hike close by. The Pima Canyon area was very convenient and had a good parking area. The hike starts off behind some homes in the foothills and then climbs through the Saguaro cactus and various other cacti to areas above Tuscon. You... 更多
It was a nice day and a very nice hike. it is recommend to have your hiking foot ware and water. Oh yes a camera! You well have a wonderful time.
Great hike for low-medium intensity hikers, great views of both the canyon and the city, easy access from parking lot
Pima cyn trail starts easy enough and allows fun hike with family. After a few hours, it gets much steeper and hiking sticks advised. With enough time, a great hike is to climb up finger rock to Kimball and then down the Pima Cyn wall out to the parking lot (allow at least 8hrs!). Beware that summer hikes will leave... 更多
This is a wonderful trail - accessible, scenic and free. For those who are avid hikers and/or in good shape, it will be a piece of cake. For those with foot, leg or hip issues, realize that this trail is very rocky, with a lot of ups and downs. I'm 73 years old, overweight and not in the best of... 更多
