I hadn't read anything about The Museum of the Horse Soldier and stumbled upon it on a trip to Tucson. Wow! For a relatively small and new museum, the Director has assembled a very impressive collection of 150 years of US Cavalry history! Great job, it's a must see for history fans!
Excellent museum. Tour given was very nformative and museum is well laid out. Staff is very knowledgeable. Excellent book selection available.
Great tribute to the Horse Soldier with genuine uniforms and weaponry of the US Military Mounted Services since its inception. Unique artifacts you won't see anywhere else.
This museum is quite small. It's mainly about horses in the military. Lots of authentic artefacts but often with no explanations at all. Also nice: next door is "Trail Dust Town" which is a small fake western town which seems to be used for parties and private events. Free of charge.
Actually, the museum is only about horses in the military. The explanations come from the labels, text panels, and guided... 更多
This neat little history museum in Trail Dust Town features genuine Civil War era uniforms and weaponry, and a fairly comprehensive look at the history of the American horse soldier. This ifeatures well-executed displays, is quiet, inexpensive, and well worth the time. Not great for little kids who won't understand the history, though. Perfect if there's a long wait at... 更多
As I am particularly interested in the history of the 'Wild West' I found this small museum extremely well done. The venue is simply packed with exhibits and tells the developing story of mounted cavalry in America from its inception up to its eventual decline. there are uniforms, weapons, documents, carriages and much more. For a small area it is... 更多
This museum has a wonderful collection of tack, uniforms, guns, caissons and everything else you can imagine from the days when the US Military relied on horses and mules. There are great photos of horses in use right up to the Korean War. There is also a room full of artifacts excavated from the numerous former Military Forts around Arizona... 更多
Short drive from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Excellent museum visited with wife and son today. All three of us were happy we visited. A lot of interesting history information. I found the information comparing military pay throughout our history very interesting.
A great way to see pieces of history often overlooked. Artistically and thoughtfully displayed. If you can get the curator to do a tour for you, this is a special treat that brings many under appreciated aspects of the military history to life.
