We took a couple of hours to see the first 150 years' worth of the story and then ate upstairs in the Tun Tavern, which was delicious with very good brews. But once we returned to the exhibits, beginning with World War II, we realized we did not have enough time left to do the last 3 exhibits justice. Those... 更多
The history of the US Marine Corps as well as helps the visitor understand the Marine culture and experience. The displays are modeled from photographs. Docents are knowledgable and well trained. There is usually some type of ceremony occurring. The setting is beautiful. This is one of our favorite museums and is still growing.
We visited the Marine Corps Museum on our way from our home outside DC to Fredericksburg. We thought it might take an hour or two and we easily spent 3 to 4 hours. We rented the audio equipment but I don't think it is necessary. They've used all different mediums including movies, to tell the story of the Marine Corps... 更多
We visited this museum out of curiosity. We were on I-95 north and we saw this interesting building on the right side of the highway (we thought that it could be the NMMC) and since the traffic was so bad, we decided to exit and look for this museum. And it's right there! They have a huge parking lot and... 更多
I could not have been more impressed by this museum. I look forward to returning once the OIF/OEF wing is completed. Excellent experience for current and past active duty/reserve Marines, you will be impressed.
We visited this museum last week and really enjoyed it. The docents were right on the spot with directions to viewing the entire museum and in what order. Everything was put together very well. When we got there 2 buses of kids were just leaving and we thought it was good that they were gone. After we got inside, we... 更多
I went with 3 girls ages 7-13. We have family in the Marines but would have gone here regardless. It's laid out very easy to navigate. It's interactive. TONS of cool information and authentic pieces to look at. Kept our interest from start to end. Due to the weather we weren't able to go out to the Gardens but WILL... 更多
This museum is wonderful for American History! Take your time and plan to spend a few hours. As it is indoors, you can go year round.
This museum is a classy, honorable, and meticulously detailed interactive history or our beloved corps. Through the decades, we have fought in every clime and place and this museum is a living monument to the sacrifices, challenges, and triumphs of a military brotherhood/sisterhood that has defended a great and mighty nation and our global allies from tyranny for centuries. Be... 更多
You need time for this one. We only had an hour and that was no where near enough time. Mainly indoor so if the weather is too hot or cold then this is a good one. Some of the displays are graphic but then that is the reality of war. THe museum walks you through all wars starting with WWI... 更多
