We found this museum to be very interesting. They had a room dedicated to Ms Tubman. Also lots of interesting art work throughout the museum Information on local musicians that made it big including Little Richard's first Piano The staff was very friendly and helpful
I went to this museum thinking there would be more info on civil rights struggles and Harriet Tubman but was disappointed. There is some history but it is mainly an African Art museum - with some fine artwork.
The building was beautiful and the staff member we met, Forest), was super helpful and friendly. The location was convenient but in an urban setting that appears to be under revitalization. Since we visited on Satuday the parking was ok. My only complaint would be that I was expecting to see more exhibits and artifacts. Overall, the collection was interesting... 更多
The museum was interesting, comfortable and informative. Parking is scarce, but the effort is definitely worth it. Welcoming and helpful staff add to the experience. Well worth the trip.
Definitely worth stopping by, However, was expecting more content and emphasis on history. There was a room dedicated to Harriet Tubman's life but most of the center was dedicated to art exhibits and culture. There is great potential here, but would love to see more content. Perhaps expand the exhibits on local African American Musicians. Would have loved to see... 更多
My wife and I stopped at the Tesla supercharger (in the museum parking lot). We were so put off by the trash, empty alcohol containers, apparent homeless, and decrepit neighborhood that we didn't even consider visiting the museum. The rest of Macon (Cherry street and Mansion hill) have a lot to offer, are cleaner and much more attractive. Tubman: put... 更多
This museum has finally opened after years in construction. The life and influence of Harriet Tubman is revealed to the public beautifully in documents, photographs and posters. A visit takes about 2-3 hours and is time well-spent. The only thing missing is the new $20 bill which is to appear later this year.
I went with a friend thinking there would be a large amount of historical artifacts regarding Ms Tubman. If that is why you are going please be advised there is a small section dedicated to Ms. Tubman but the rest of the museum is dedicated to Georgia African American artists. I enjoyed the photography exhibit and the art was amazing... 更多
This is a great museum which tells the story of the slaves struggle to get there freedom. It does this through a very good video telling the story of one married couple in particular but it has much much more in the museum. One thing to note is that the address online and in some of the literature is wrong.... 更多
