The house was interesting and loved to learn about the history of the town and the family has the house got passed down through generations. However I brought my children. They enjoyed it, but I the tour was a little slow for them.
Macon reminds me of Montgomery, AL in that there is SO much to see and do that you can take two days to really enjoy yourself among the restaurants, pubs, and historic shenanigans. The cannonball house is known for a cannonball having gone through it. Now, the hole is said to still be there, but there is not a lot... 更多
Honestly it is the stories surrounding this house which make it stand out and worth visiting. It is named for the cannonball which hit it during the War for Southern Independence. However, the family stories and those surrounding the two Sororities preserved in the house definitely added to the experience.
Very interesting short tour of Civil War pass through Macon, Ga. and how the house got its name and the history prior and after the Civil War. Small souvenir shop.

We looked up the website the morning we were going to go. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF BEING CLOSED ON APRIL 8! We get there and go around the back where a small note on the back door says we are closed.
i had heard about this home for years before accidentally bumbling across it while lost looking for a place to eat. i bet that made quite an impression on who ever it was that was in that room when she landed. glad they miss the explosion. not really much to see here, but glad to have finally seen it.
Just a few steps down from the Hay House. Small, but interesting especially with the docent we had. He had so many stories. You get a guided tour anytime you show up. $6 for seniors.
