In comfortable weather this is a great place to take the kids and learn a bit about indian culture. Be sure to visit the museum and read the posted plagues while exploring
There is a must see museum in the visitors center. Stop here first to learn the history of this interesting place. There are some nice easy walking trails. See the Indian mounds. A very good place for birding as well. Go in the morning if it is a hot day. Good place to stretch your legs. They close at 5.
The highlight of this National Monument is the 1,000-year-old Earth Lodge. I loved that we were able to go inside (through a tiny tunnel) to see what it was like. The day outside was hot, but it was much cooler inside the mound. There are trails and a CCC-era visitor center, which housed a small museum with artifacts and a... 更多
Third year in a row visiting for the Indian Festival. Love the food, the atmosphere and so much to do for all ages. I have a family with a teenager and younger child and it is just as interesting and fun for all of us. We will continue to keep retuening, year after year. It is also great any other... 更多

Interesting park. The park rangers were very nice and informative. The 17-minute film in the visitor center is worth watching. Nice scenery around the park. I enjoyed a few of the trails. They were pretty and well maintained. It was very hot the day I went so I was glad that I brought water along with me. The river trail... 更多
This is a great place to visit & visit regularly. There is an air-conditioned indoor area, very well done and something for everyone and trails outdoors with fantastic views of downtown Macon and the Ocmulgee River. Visitors can step into a preserved lodge for a view and feel of the past. Walking trails vary in length and terrain which accommodated... 更多
The visitor center contains a wealth of artifacts, dioramas, and information as well as a movie. Spend time here to absorb the significance of the ancient mounds. The amount of information can be overwhelming, but it is necessary to put the significance of the site in context. This is history you will not learn in public school, and there are... 更多
