We visited the site in Montana. There were no traditional brown signs marking the location or way. Nothing to indicate we were even on the right road. Had to drive for 7 miles before we found the shelter with signage. No visitor center, just in a shelter at the junction of two roads. The signage under the shelter was great... 更多
We enjoyed our visit to the park headquarters and several of the other sites. The film and displays at the visitors center were remarkable. We also visited Canoe Camp and the Whitebird Battlefield, two of the other sites in the park.
This small visitor had a nice little museum and a lot of history to tell. Unfortunately the ranger on duty gave us more personal opinion than accurate facts. We left without spending any time there, he was such a terrible introduction to the site! We have visited and volunteered at many historic sites and have never had anyone so poor... 更多
Nez Perce National Historical Park is an interesting experiment for the National Park Service. First of all, the park has around 40 sites, depending on how you count them, spread out across four states. This number is a little deceptive, since a number of the sites don't have much to them and can be visited thoroughly in less than five... 更多
We were fortunate to arrive during the shift of a young woman who really knew and understood the history of her ancestors. We watched the new 20 minute movie about the Nez Perce people. We toured the museum and shopped in the gift shop. There is a rich history here and we were very fortunate to get a taste.
My wife and I visited the Nez Perce National Historical Museum last week and had a wonderful experience, The National Park Museum is located on Us Highway 95 in the Spalding and Lapwai areas of Idaho. We were greeted at the Museum by 3 very friendly National Park service officers led by Tami DeGrosky the Superintendent of the Nez Perce... 更多
Came across this visitor center while driving through. Really enjoyed visiting since I just finished reading a history of the Nez Perce. The visitor center has some historical items from the Nez Perce but the best part is to wander down where the village was located and take in the history of the area.
I have always been fascinated by Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce. We stopped at the visitor center and received lots of information about the Nez Perce and the National Park, which is actually made up of several sites that tell the tragic story of the Nez Perce. It is well worth the visit. Everyone should understand about this period... 更多
A must visit site along the Clearwater River. Check out the Nez Perz heritage. Lots of interesting information here for history buffs or simply curious folks.
Fairly extensive exhibits for a small museum. Best feature was probably the movie. It was unique in that, besides the usual description of past events, it also showed current events regarding progress towards the re-establishment of the language and other Nez Perce culture. That was nice to see.
