Nice view.. few picnic tables to spend some time. some good description/writeups of the ships made here and lighthouses and functions.. can visit if in the area and have some time..
This tiny lighthouse gives visitors the oppourtunity to envision life as a lighthouse keeper. A small park with washrooms,a gift shop and some historical information about privateering and shipbuilding in the area. So fun for the kids to climb to the top and to sound the manual fog horn. Very good interpretive information and friendly staff. All was made even better by the picnic we had delivered from Lane's. What a cool service!
We were in Liverpool for lunch and then stopped in the visitor booth where we found out about this lighthouse. It was a cute and easy to find. Canada's oldest lighthouse, run by the town for past few decades, at the end of a point of land. 20 minute walk from downtown. Very relaxing place to sit, watch boats go by and birds.
We happened upon the Lighthouse on our way through Liverpool and had the time so stopped in, and are glad we did. There are lovely views, of course, and a little park; plenty of free parking, and a costumed docent manning the facility at the entrance.
