A definite stop when you are traveling the Natchez Parkway. You will be impressed by the size of it and the area is quite beautiful in general. The information posted there helps to visualize what this looked like when occupied by native Americans

I would say not worth driving way out of your way to see but quite interesting to see it and speculate on it's purpose if you are passing close by it. Does give you sort of an odd feeling when you are the only ones there.

Very large Indian mounds. interesting history and story. It is right off the Natchez Trace Pkwy. A nice stop and rest. However it is a take it or leave it.

This is on the new mound trail, right off the Natchez Trace. There is a nice sign explaining the site. Fairly easy access to the top of the mound where you can get a good sense of the size of the mound and what it took to build it.

Basically this is one of the recommended sights on the Natchez Trace. There is a history but little is visible You have to use your imagination. Not sure if there's anything that could be done to make it more interesting to be honest. However, one of the must do stop offs on the Trace

This is the second largest Indian mound in the United States. The photo here does not do it justice.

This is one of the many stops along the Natchez Trace. It was well kept and easily accessible. This was the only Native American Mound that had stairs that made it possible to go to the top.

This is a beautiful sight. There are steps that will enable you to slowly walk up the height of the mound. Once you reach the top and review the plaque that explains the construction process, you will be overwhelmed by the amount of dirt moved. This is an impressive sight.

Coming off the Trace be prepared for a very different type of road leading to the mounds - almost unmade. The walk up to the top is easy and it' a much better preserved mound than the others on the Trace. Well signposted.

Unbelievable place and part of Native American history. You can walk to the top of the mound and the view is incredible. Hard to believe the Natchez Indians created this by hand.
