CenterStage is a refurbished movie theatre (a Loews) from the 1930's. Now it hosts a variety of shows, concerts, etc. It is gorgeous inside; one could visit for the architecture alone. Also, it is reported to be haunted, but I've never seen a ghost in the many visits I've made over the years.
My wife and I took four of our grandchildren to see a presentation of the Nutcracker. We are both tall, I had a total knee replacement and my wife is scheduled for one next week. We bought tickets months ago and very specifically told the ticketing agent we wanted tickets on the aisle for each of us with three tickets... 更多
My family and I visited the Carpenter Theatre to see Peppa Pig. They opened the doors on time and the lobby area was spacious and clean. The actual theatre was very nice. It had charm to it because it looked old. However, the seats were comfortable, and the sound and lighting were great. My only complaint, which is not the... 更多
I like this venue, its not too small but small enough that watching comedian's there it seemed more personable. I would imagine the performers like playing there. We saw John Cleese and Eric idol there and while they were funny enough I was a little disappointed as it felt as though they relied on two many old videos of themselves in past... 更多

When I arrived it was already 4:20 and the attendant on the lobby told me to wait in the lobby since the orchestra already started or I can stand outside and listen to the music. So I prefer... 更多
A wonderful venue to attend any performance. The restoration of the old movie palace into a state of the art theatre is incredible. I highly recommend.
The show we saw was really great, but my husband is 6'2" and I am 5'11" and we honestly could not sit in the seat comfortably. We both had our knees up on the back of the seat in front of us. We were in the 3rd balcony, so I don't know if the seats on the floor are any... 更多
This is one of my very favorite venues in Richmond. It is a gorgeous theater, very ornate and beautiful, and we had a fantastic time seeing Weird Al Yankovich perform. The sightlines to the stage from our orchestra-level seats were great, and sound was definitely no problem (it was even a bit too loud, in some cases). Ushers were very... 更多
Was this part of the Golden Age of Movie Theaters in the twenties? It has that zany, exuberant decor of faintly Italian-Moorish baroque arabesques. Modern suspended baffles have improved the sound (I heard the excellent Richmond Symphony Orchestra), but the old wooden seats are uncomfortable and do not provide enough leg room (knees in the neck before you). Too few... 更多
