The Fan is a diverse collection of wealth and poverty, grandeur and decay. There are pockets of great architectural beauty, and neighborhoods with old sofas on the front porches. It is definitely interesting to drive through this area and appreciate the history and architecture, and perhaps mourn the loss of some of it.
Take a stroll around the beautiful Fan district and look closely at the amazing features for the restored homes and row houses that have been restored. The large tree lined streets have such a calming effect on the soul. It's a nice walk. Stop in the small ma and pa shops or grab lunch at one of the many area... 更多
So many historic houses, small restaurants and even some shopping- you can explore for hours! Recommended also for those of you who love to run!

Many of the houses from the late 1800s are still in use. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Locals really love this spot.

Stop in one of the local restaurants, then sit in one of the pocket parks, and take in... 更多
Grew up in Richmond and lived in the Fan District during the late 1960's. Much remains the same but most of the houses have been updated and its quite impressive. Many small neighborhood bars and shops.

Named for it's fan shaped area, it is attractive and historic. Be sure to get a map of the numerous Monuments and Homes relating to Civil War history, and the period when Richmond was the... 更多
People love the Fan...too much fuss for me. Probably great for younger more trendy people. Parking is a hassle, occasional security concerns, not for me, thanks.....
