Walking on memorial drive looking back to Boston is a most that everybody should do. I run it at any time morning afternoon and night and it is wanderfull, rent a bike, take a walk and you will enjoy it a lot.
Have always liked driving east to west down Memorial Drive, lots to see. Boston skyline, Charles river, sail boats, small yachts, bridges, people watching, prestigious schools, MIT, Harvard, Boston University. Fourth of July concert and fire works. Bicycling. Lots to do, have a picnic on a bench ??
It's nice to drive along the Charles River during good weather. This particular road offers a nice view and hasn't been to crowded during the times that I've driven on it. There are quite a few good photos spots too.
this road has sidewalks to walk and overlooks the charles river and Boston. There are some benches for sitting.
One side is the river, boat houses and the skyline of Boston. the other side of the road borders MIT and parts of Harvard.
Driving around here is a mess with detours, speeding drivers. i would not recommend until the bridge work is done. Driving in Boston is always a challenge but when your GPS directs you over a non existing path it really is trying. Wait until the work is done then take the leisurely drive.
