Paid the extra three dollars apiece to see the display of artifacts from the Lincoln movie. They paled in comparison to the real dresses, etc. in the Presidential museum. Ladies running the show didn't say anything to us -- talked on their phones the whole time.
The depot is within walking distance of LincolnS house. There's only two rooms. One for men and one women waiting for trains. This is where Lincoln spoke to a crowd as he left for Washington after he was first elected. Enjoyed it.

This is the place where Lincoln gave his farewell speech to his Springfield friends and neighbors when he left for Washington, DC and the Presidency. A few items on display, as well as a short documentary.
Only able to see bits and pieces of this. At the end of the day there is a reenactment of Lincoln giving a farewell from outside the depot. Very small inside and can not hold all people wanting to see presentation

But few visit the Great Western Depot or Lincoln Depot, which was the sight of one of the most poignant moments in U.S. history. Located... 更多
